The Outcome of the Karbala City Centre Competition

A panel of 5 members from the Imam Hussain Shrine Authority, the general directorate for planning of the MMPW ministry and ICTR gathered on 27/12/2007 to discuss the 8 designs received by that date. These were:

Following evaluating the designs, it was unanimously decided that none has fulfilled the competition criteria, especially the aims required for the city centre. However, since the design and work received from Al Mawred office, it was decided to reward them an honorary amount of $7,500 for their thorough work.
